The expansion tank pre-charge absorbs the water volume increase as it heats. When the tank becomes waterlogged — loses its air charge — the pressure has nowhere to go. This is the cause of nearly all boiler pressure relief valve discharge and is an easy fix once diagnosed.
What's Included
We test the tank's air pre-charge with the system depressurized.
If the tank bladder is intact, we recharge the pre-pressure with nitrogen or dry air.
