Thermostat & Controls Services, Georgetown TX
Thermostat Installation & Service
Install any thermostat, standard, programmable, or smart, with proper wiring, configuration, and testing.
Replace faulty or outdated thermostats. We identify compatibility requirements before recommending equipment.
Recalibrate thermostats reading inaccurately, a 2-3ยฐF offset causes significant comfort and efficiency problems in Georgetown's heat.
Determine if the thermostat or the system is the cause of HVAC problems, the thermostat is rarely the actual culprit.
Relocate thermostats away from heat sources, drafts, or direct sunlight that cause inaccurate temperature readings.
Install a common wire for smart thermostats that require continuous 24V power, without it, smart thermostats often malfunction.
Full smart thermostat setup including wiring, app configuration, scheduling, and compatibility verification.
Optimize thermostat response settings, anticipator adjustment, and stage sequencing for your specific system.

Install outdoor temperature sensors for weather-compensating controls and smart thermostat systems.
Aquastat Diagnosis and Replacement
An aquastat is the control that regulates water temperature on hydronic boiler and combination heating systems, telling the boiler when to fire to maintain a target water temperature and, on many models, controlling a circulator relay to move hot water through the system. While Georgetown's housing stock leans heavily toward forced air systems, a meaningful number of older homes near the historic downtown district and some custom builds run hydronic baseboard or radiant floor heat, and those systems depend entirely on a functioning aquastat.
Aquastats fail in a few predictable ways. The sensing bulb, which sits in a well threaded into the boiler's water jacket, can lose its charge over years of thermal cycling, causing the control to read inaccurately or stop responding altogether. The switching contacts inside the control body wear from repeated cycling and eventually fail to close, which stops the boiler from firing even though the thermostat is calling for heat. On combination aquastats that also control a tankless coil for domestic hot water, a failed high limit switch can either shut the whole system down as a safety measure or, less often, fail to limit temperature at all, which is a genuine scald and pressure hazard that needs immediate attention.
Our diagnostic process starts by verifying the boiler's actual water temperature with an independent thermometer at the supply line and comparing it against what the aquastat is displaying or switching at. If there's a meaningful gap, we check the sensing bulb's contact with the well, since a loose or dry well fitting is a common cause of lag or false readings that gets misdiagnosed as a bad control when it's actually a mounting issue. When the aquastat itself is confirmed bad, we replace it with a control rated for the same differential and range as the original, verify the circulator relay engages at the correct call point, and confirm the high limit safety trips at the correct temperature before returning the system to service.
Well water in the outlying parts of Williamson County tends to run harder than city supply, and mineral buildup inside boiler piping and around aquastat wells can insulate the sensing bulb from actual water temperature over time, producing symptoms that mimic a failing control. We check for scale buildup at the well fitting as part of every aquastat service call, since replacing the control without addressing scale just sets up the same failure again on a shorter timeline.
